“In Scientology doctrine, Xenu (also Xemu) was the alien dictator of the “Galactic Confederacy” who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of aliens to Earth in DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and blew them up with hydrogen bombs. Their souls then clustered together and stuck to the bodies of the living, and continue to wreak chaos and havoc today.”

South Park’s retelling of the Xenu story can be viewed here.
They missed by bit about the hydrogen bombs, but the rest is quite accurate. I guess it’s not easy to make $cientology funnier than it already is. :)
*the bit. Sorry.
I’ve just read some of the Wikipedia stuff on Scientology, for the first time…
I’m not often lost for words! You’re right, Bailey. It would be difficult to parody a parody.
Ah, Fin, are you really just discovering the scandalous absurdity of this stuff? The Xenu story’s funny and all, but really, we’re talking about an exploitive organization masquerading as a religion; if Wikipedia’s coverage has left you speechless, you should head on over to xenu.net and read some of the articles they have there. It’s pretty shocking.
Also, I hate to correct your spelling twice in as many days, but the correct was to spell ’$cientology’ is with a ’$’ symbol. ;)
It’s $hocking how exploitative people can be. And how gullible.
I’ve been surfing xenu.net as you suggested.
Well, well.
Well!
It’s not even internally self-consistent drivel.
Just plain, rambling drivel.
Oh, and I’m usually too observant to miss a spelling like ’$cientology’; I have cleaned my glasses now and promise to keep my eyes open when reading.
