Yves Klein was a French bloke from the mid 20th Century who did a lot of paintings, most of which were blue. When I say blue, I don’t mean that he painted predominantly blue paintings of blue things, I mean that he actually painted blue; the colour blue.
I have attached his picture “International Blue” for your perusal. (Presumably, “International Blue” was a disappointing sequel to “National Blue”, in the same way that in the film world, the overdue and highly disappointing “International Velvet” was intended to follow up “National Velvet”).
Occasionally, however – usually when he ran out of blue paint – he would indulge in his second favourite painting mode, and he would dip one or more of his lady friends in paint (not blue, obviously) and drag them across a very large canvas. Occasionally, he would get another of his lady friends to drage the same lady friend across the same canvas.
Here’s one he prepared earlier…
