When to the sessions of sweet silent thought I summon up remembrance of things past, I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought, And with old woes new wail my dear time's waste: Then can I drown an eye, unused to flow, For precious friends hid in death's dateless night, And weep afresh love's long since cancelled woe, And moan the expense of many a vanished sight: Then can I grieve at grievances foregone, And heavily from woe to woe tell o'er The sad account of fore-bemoanèd moan, Which I new pay as if not paid before. But if the while I think on thee, dear friend, All losses are restored and sorrows end.
He talked a lot about syphalis, and if you read his sonnets as logically congruent and pertaining to him then he had syphalis aswell—not that I look down on people that have it, but it's a fun fact for your English class. I guess I should give you more information--the speaker of the sonnets is worried that his male friend that he idealizes more than a lover is sleeping with his (the speaker's) female lover. And he decides that he will know by whether or not his male friend inherits syphalis. I'm assuming that the speaker is sleeping with his female lover aswell... The more you know!
yeah yeah! we're intellectual so lets all put shakespeare on out pages so people know we're intellectual! we're intellectual dontchaknow!!!!!! yeah we're smart and well read and know lots of really obscure brilliant writers so lets put the most famous one of all time on our bestuff pages next to bill kaulitz and 'emo hair' yeah yeah yeah! and lets, some of us- the REALLY cool and edgy ones- call him overrated, implying that we ourselves are capable of greater genius! yeah yeah you go for it!!!! i love being intellectual, but only as long as everyone knows it!!!!!

Seriously, let’s not kid ourselves here: everything written since Shakespeare is derivative.
well, I haven’t read all of shakespeare, let alone everything since shakespeare. but I would say your comment may not be far off the mark.
Whoever “Shakespeare” really was, you gotta admit: He was a great playwright and poet. His humor is still funny HUNDREDS of years after his time!!!
Have you forgotten Maxamillion IX?
I never knew who Maxamillion IX was in the first place…?
All english speaking people owe a great debt to him.
Shakespeare has done a great deed for literature, and I for one am glad that he did
i think that he could tell a really good story. i like his tragedy TITUS ANDRONICUS the best with the comedy A MIDSUMMERS NIGHT DREAM also.
"Oh romeo, Oh romeo where for art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name??...."
oh i love Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare's work is timeless <3333

So overrated.

Shakeaspeare is really awesome! Hamlet and Julies Ceaser are superb. I feel pity for Brutus and close to prince Hamlet.
To Crimson_Tears or whoever the heck you are:
Shavian irreverence? Explain yourself, sir, for those comments come rare, and come with loads of illogic.
