Physically, yes, we do. Mentally--not necessarily.
In the world that we've created, we all live off of and lead by example. What we see in the world around us creates who and what we become... who we turn out to be. Without this image, that we follow, I believe we would all be in our natural states... child/infant like. Or has it be proven that we grow... genetically/naturally learn to become adult like?
My Psychology Teacher Says:
"It all depends on your experiences in childhood and your responses to those childhood experiences as well as biochemical changes within your brain that will determine how mature you are as an adult. As with anything, it's always possible to grow up mentally aside from physically, of course,but ultimately, it depends on the individual's attitude towards whether or not he/she wants to act his/her age."
