Wario Land II was the kicker in the Wario Land series. While previous instalments had played around with elements from Mario, WL2 made the series all its own. Gone was the damage system, in came the status change system. The game brought with it a unique sense of physicality in each environment, something which has remained with the series ever since. With 50 levels branching out in alternate timelines, shoulder-bashing had never been so much fun.
