Does anyone really believe that simply voting is good for America? At the grocery store you could buy Obama, Palin and McCain t-shirts. This is how the pro-vote campaign worked it. Make it a popularity contest more comparable to sports figure and rock star endorsements. The pro-vote campaign is choosing shallow uneducated voting over apathy and refusal to choose the "lesser of two evils." I count my refusal to vote as a vote for something better.

Go on… Sarcasm cannot be distinguished in a text, and I know you not well enough to decipher your laconic sentences.

Sorry, forgot about this. You seemed to completely disappear.
I don't remember what I was going to say, unfortunately, but I'll try.

Simply voting isn't good enough, but it's a start. So few people actually care about politics, so if there is a way, any way, to get people to give a shit, to inspire people, then I'm all for it. Lots of people don't do anything because they figure that there is nothing that they can do, since just voting isn't that effective. If people believe that they can make a difference, they are more likely to do more.

Of course there's bad, of course there is shallowness, of course people vote without knowing all the facts. But there's enough to make it also good, deep, and intelligent. There isn't only one side, there never is. We can't dismiss something because a lot of people make it bad. We can make it good.

This site is a good example. People think they they can't do anything to change it, so they just give up and go away. It keeps going and going until no one cares.

If you're going to refuse to vote, then I hope you are actually doing something to make it better. I'd have more respect your decision. If not, it's just talk and doesn't mean anything.

It's also an action, and just as much so as not voting. That being said, if not voting as a vote is just talk, then voting is just talk. The second premise is false, therefore you are false.

Secondly, if I weigh the options, and they balance rightly, there is no reason to demand a choice from myself, the option has been selected, equilibrium rests.

Thirdly, if I sit down to dinner, and the discussion revolves around a box, that box is the same box whether I voted or not.

Fourthly, proactivism is a conspiracy thought up by the Liberal Elite to patronize the youth of America. Therefore, if Rush Limbaugh double knots his shoes, they are still double knotted whether I voted or not.

Fifthly, go suck an egg.

This concludes my successful attempt at your logical defeat. Nominalism prevails. Tell your children. A vote for Nominalism is a vote for eggs.
