In 1999, Vicki Zhao won Golden Eagle Awards “Best Actress Award” which is China highest TV drama award. In 2001, she won Best Actress Award and People’s Choice Award in Taiwan Online voting. In 2002, she won two “Best Supporting Actress nominations” in Taiwan Golden Horse Award and Asia Pacific Film Festival. In 2004, she won “Best Actress nomination” and “People’s Choice Award (Actress)” in the 11th Beijing College Student Film Festival. She won “Best Actress nomination” and “People’s Choice Award (Actress)” in the 4th Chinese Media Film Awards; and “Best Actress Nomintaion” in Hundred Flowers Awards. In 2005,Zhao Wei won the 8th Shanghai International Film Festival “Best Actress Award.”Then she won the 10th China Movie Academic Society Prize(aka Golden Phoenix Award)—”Committee Award” in August.Then Zhao Wei won the 11th China highest government award-China Movie Awards(aka Huabiao Awards) “Best Actress Award”(shared with Ziyi Zhang).Today, Zhao Wei is one of Chinese directors’ favorite actresses. She also is a pop singer. In 1999-2001, her 4 albums sold more than 3,700,000 records in Aisa, but critics thought those record were just so so. In November 2004, her newest album “Piao(Afloat)” sold more than 300,000 only in 10 days (China mainland), and most of the critics praised her.
