The trick with vegemite is to use a very small amount. Don’t spread it on thickly.
It’s an Australian yeast extract, but you can find out more about it at Wikipedia

Come on guys, you DO NOT eat this straight out of the jar, of course that is bloody disgusting, you need to spread this on HOT BUTTERED toast. drools
You really don’t want to know how my sister eats Vegemite…
The thicker, the better. Vegemite on toast, on crackers, on cheese, on fresh bread or straight off the knife. Yum!!
A couple of questions:
What does it taste like?
What is its purpose?
Is it just in Australia?
"I said 'Do you speak my language?'. He just smiled and gave me a Vegimite sandwich."
Then of course there's the counter-top in He Died With A Felafel In His Hand.
Answer my fucking questions.
What does it taste like?
It has a really strong bitter taste?
What is its purpose?
Um, to be eaten? xP
Is it just in Australia?
Ferrsure. Probably isnt anywhere else.
But nomnomnom, I love vegemite, vegemite with cheese on toast <3
How is Vegemite different from Marmite?
The above picture looks more like a jelly compared to the thinness of Marmite.
Hmmm love ♥ vegemite ♥. The taste may be described as salty and slightly bitter… a bit like salty beer and it has the same consistency as smooth peanut butter. Because it has a strong flavour it should NOT be spread on thickly. It's extreamly good on buttered toast, and its pretty good with grilled cheese on toast. It's eaten mainly in Australia but it's also very popular in New Zealand and the British have their own version – marmite.
