The Vargas Girls were the pin-up girls painted by Alberto Vargas from the 1940s into the 1970s. His work appeared in Esquire magazine, for which he became famous. In Esquire magazine they were originally known as “Varga Girls”. However, a legal dispute with Esquire over the use of the name “Varga” resulted in a judgment against Vargas and he struggled financially until the 1960s when Playboy magazine began to use his work as “Vargas Girls.”

Painted women look always better then real women – but real women smell better. ;)
My favorite painting of his is Candy-O. For obvious reasons. =)
