Names can bring with them pre-conceptions of who and what the person is all about. Sometimes it is indeed better to have a less popular first name.
martha huh? try karisse.
Charly =)=)=) At least in Germany not very common, and most of the people think it isn't my real name ^^
An aunt and an uncle of mine had three sons. They dub the first one Rivo, the second one Luzio and the third one Nario. RivoLuzioNario. Revolutionary.
Jo Eva. Although I just add "Eva" (my middle name) for better effect. :)
My name is Martha, and my sisters are named Nora and Colleen. I like having an unusual name. I think it makes me feel more unique. I want to name my daughter Ariel someday, because it's unusual and also because it's another name for the city of Jerusalem and my fiance's Jewish. Her middle name will be Sara. If we have a son, we're naming him Mark, which I know isn't an unusual name, but it was my fiance's brother's name, and it's Jewish tradition to name babies after dead relatives, not living ones. Our son's middle name will be Gavin, which is a lesser-used name. A child is going to have his/her name for life, so think about it carefully before you select.
Martha is not an unusal name at all....
i suppose your not latin. which would make it rare to your culture.
Skyler, which is usually a boy's name.
