The music on Unreal was fucking awesome! They contracted a whole heap of famous ‘demo-scene’ artists from Europe to write music for it in their familiar formats (later generation MOD formats like s3m and xm).
I still listen to the soundtrack for Unreal quite often using XiMPLEMoD on Mac OS X!

Great game. This was the reason I bought a PC many moons ago. Agreed about the sound track. It is still the best musical score in a game ever.
I have all the music – including the tracks that did not make it into the final game – in MP3 format and I stil listen to it every now and then.
