University of North Florida

One of Florida's public state universities, UNF has its own nature trails, is a preserve and winter nesting place for Canada geese, and has some of the best professors in the world.  Great if you're looking for a school with a relaxed atmosphere.  Lots of bureaucratic issues, of course, what school doesn't have those? but all in all, some of the best bang for your buck in the southeast, if not the whole country.
