I do not know many German actors actually, but saw Ulrich Muehe in Das Leben Der Anderen and was delighted. He is a great actor! Der Beste :)

Yes, unfortunately it is true. I have just checked on the web, German news, and it says that he died on July 22nd. I am so sad.
