Ubuntu is a complete Linux-based operating system, freely available with both community and professional support. It is developed by a large community and we invite you to participate too!

The new instalation technique (a live CD that enables you to try Ubuntu before really installing it to your computer) enables you to test it without the risk of harming anything on your computer.

You can still keep Windows on your computer thanks to the dual boot system: There is simply no reason not to try it!

Of all the Operating Systems out there, this one is just too cool for school.

Since I’ve discovered Ubuntu, I tend not to use Windows anymore, only for games (but there seems to be kind of an alternative, see cedega:’http://www.transgaming.com/’).

I thought that installing a linux distribution was difficult for a newcomer from the windows world, but I’ve manage to convince some friends with Ubuntu’s new live install cd: just put the CD in your drive, and you can use Linux. Installing is made really simple!

My advice: Just try it! Nothing to lose, you’re not even suppose to install it to try it!

It’s a great distribution, and excellent choice for the less-geeky computer user looking to try an alternative to Windows.

...an excellent choice, rather. :)

The No-Brainer Linux for the masses.

Though I adore both of them, this is (in some ways) the polar opposite of Mac OS X – bare bones, minimalist, and not heavy on graphical wow-itude. Ubuntu is the easiest distro to install and use, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

i’ll have to say…it is the best linux distro. I do not use it as my main. I use OS X 10 …as linux does not support much of the stuff i run (ie. Photoshop), and no way i’m using gimp..lol. I still prefer it over windows because windows is a virus magnet

From Warty to Edgy I’ve been with Ubuntu at both work and home. I could not imagine been forced to use a Microsoft operating system.

=)

I never thought Linux could be so easy to setup and use.

Even the eye candy stuff is easy and I don’t need the biggest baddest computer to do it either!

Great, Stallmanian dogmatism is always good for a laugh. For all practical purposes Ubuntu is free, and Ubuntu main is free all the more.

It is also the best operating system which is well integrated with internet. And that banshee player is cool too…

I've been using Ubuntu for one year now and past the last 8 months or so without any Windows installation at home. I can even do things quicker on Linux now. Indeed, Linux and Ubuntu changed my way of viewing personal computing. It's stable, safer and FREE in the true sense of the word. You can copy, modify and spread it to anyone you feel like. Just the best!
