I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.

So true…
Trust is all in your mind…
Forever to build, a second to destroy, and an eternity to regain…
I like that silthilar ;)
Thanks!
It's a house of cards…
That's a good metaphor…I've never thought of it like that before…
I dont think I like that metaphor Kink
Well I don't think I like you so ;P
Hmmm, a house of cards. I for one like it, trust is tough to start with someone, very fragile. But once built it seems very strong, then in one moment, the slighest bump and... BAM! It's... (said sadly) it's all gone. And before you build it up again, you have to clean-up all the cards that have fallen.
I am reminded of the scene in the Brady Bunch when they were all building a house of cards to decide who should use the green stamps and whoever makes the cards fall down would be the losers. Then along comes tiger who bumps Peter I think, and the cards all fall down.
Ya i guess if you describe it like that the metaphor works it just… so sad that you work so hard on something so fragile and its gone in an instant …
So true...i'm agree...
when you give trust to someone, you give all...
Since trust is the hardest thing to give someone, why is it so easy to pull?
to pull?
I mean if you give your trust to someone, you are placing your trust with them. If they screw you too many times, you take your trust back from them. It doesn't neccessarily mean you that you feel different about that person, but they're no longer the first person you run to when you need someone you can count on.
good point, but maybe thats what makes it even harder to give out. Because with trust comes secrets and you can take your trust back but what you told them stays wth them. That happened to me and everything she knew almost destroyed me because she got mad that I didn't trust her anymore :(
Also a good point! What she did was uncalled for, like I said before, just because you decide not to trust someone anymore, doesn't mean that you hate them. But some people seem to want everything or nothing, and that's a shame.
trust…... do i have it flowing within me? or do i not? ask your self that. trust is one of the most difficult things one can have and keep permanently…... that's why we end up losing all of the oppurtunities that sometimes are open to us….. the lack of trust can make one be negative, curious and troublesome…... i say be trusting and life will be well…....if you do the things to make life worth the while…....
