Full name is Thomas John Patrick Welling. He was born April 26, 1977 in Putnam Valley, New York. He has worked as an actor, director and fashion model.
Before accepting the leading role in Smallville, Tom also appeared in a 6 episodes of the tv show Judging Amy.
He has directed two Smallville episodes: Fragile (season 5) and Hydro (season 6).

Recently I got the whole Smallville series as a present, and it made me feel happy to see those early season 1 episodes, things were so simple back then, he smiled a lot. Now is like, I don’t even remember when was the last time Clark got to smile in Smallville, I mean a wide and open, show me all your perly whites smile… I know, I know, he father died and Lana married Lex… bummer!
