This was absolutely the best show ever to come out of the U.K. While never achieving mainstream success in the US, it nevertheless influenced an entire generation. Strong influences of the writer’s comedic genius can still be seen in modern television programming. Shows like “Family Guy” utilize a very similar non sequitur approach to their plotlines (especially the flashback sequences). Also, it was one of the first taped sitcoms to integrate popular bands (at that time) into the framework of the show. This influence is seen in other US shows like “Dawson’s Creek” & “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” Do yourself a favor and rent or buy this show (it’s now out on DVD ).

I saw it again recently and don’t think it has aged well. :(
well i was too young to see it at the time. actually technically i wasn’t born but yes. but i still find it hilarious now, so i would say at least in mho it’s aged well. :)
