I think it appeals to two demographic types  and if you aint in them then you wont get it - I am a huge homer fan as he thinks much like me - a fat stupid dad with a simple view of life! Doh

It's my favourite cartoon in the world, always makes me laugh. And the hungarian dub is extremely great. :)

I love the simpsons, it is one of my favourite BUT

IT IS NOT CULT. Subversive yes but not cult. (If it had 1000 time less audience then it would be).

The Simpsons just became the longest running prime time TV show in US history. The record was previously held by ‘Gun smoke’ which ran for 20 seasons. The Simpsons are about to start their 21st season and are planning at least 1 more after that.

the simpsons is the best exmaple of a great program. just how they do everything is genius. i think matt is one of the best workers ever in the tv buiness. his ofter show futrama is also a great show but will never match up to the simpsons. south park is the only show that comes anyway near to the standerd of the simpsons. theres no question why it's been on since 1987 and never lost it's status of the best show on tv now or quite possibly in history. only very few shows in any say it's made the impact that the simpsons has. best show in history
