What a great post, Henry!!! They are just so hilarious!!!!
Hold my hand, ye-ye, hold my hand ye-ye...... Hahahahahha!!!!!
I was listening to their first CD with a friend, and he was saying I remember that song off the first Beatles album and going on how it was great, when it got to the second song and he realized it was the Rutles, I was LMAO. And George doing the interviewing, clasic.
Yeah, George was really friends with the guys, that's why he was in the film too.
Another classic moment is Dirk McQuickly playing 'tee-ree-ttee-tee' on the piano... do you remember??!!
Is that when he's trying to woo his new wife?
yeahhhh!!!!!!!
you got it right!!! it's soooo funny...!!! It makes fun of Paul's talent for.... 'silly love songs', lol.. just joking of course, I love Paul's melodies.
Yeah, Paul didn't come out too well in this picture. hehehe
I know... but I consider myself equally Lennonian and McCartneyan, as well as Harrisonian.... LOL
How about you?
They are like a recipe, equal parts Lennon—McCartney, some Harrison and a dash of Ringo. Without the rest the individuals are not as good.
Totally agreed!!!
I am a Rutles fan!! I think any Beatles fan should see the movie!!!
I agree Nick, this was in someways the original Beatles Anthology and it's a lot funner than the Anthology too. lol
Yes… but I do love to watch the Antologies, actually… they're great!
Love the pre-fab four!!
So you know them too, GB.... it was quite popular in the US, then?
:)
Not really, mainstream America I am sure, has not heard of the Rutles, but my love of British humour lead me straight to it. Also the Monty Python connection didn't hurt either!!
Nick, your right, the Anthology is better, and I agree with GB too, the Rutles is not a movie that is widly known here in the states and rereading the history of the Rutles sounds like not many people watched it when it aired. All in all it's still a fun movie to watch.
