OK, so it’s not really a supergroup as such, just Jack from the White Stripes, Brendon Benson (whose previous work was so-so) and a couple of other blokes, but “Broken Boy Soldiers” is SUCH a brilliant album, and a country mile ahead of the last White Stripes LP (and THAT was good).
And to think that they recorded it off the hoof in a few days in a rickety old 8-track studio.
All groups should be more like this, instead of spending two years and countless millions on mediocre and over-long records.

I think they’re overrated. Their songs are all, “Blah blah blah girls, et cetera.” I like girls, but singing about them all the time is boring.
