Doctor Who is the longest running Science Fiction TV series. The new series that came out in 2005 is some of the greatest Doctor Who yet. Christopher Eccleston is a powerful and charismatic Doctor. A bit of bastard really for leaving the show.
But all is not bad. The new Doctor starring David Tennant is unique, funny and charasmatic. The writing is brilliant, the shows exciting and well directed. The New Doctor Who will easily retain its cult status. More info at Wikipedia.
Oh, and Billie Piper is pretty cute, but not as cute as David Tennant.

The master is back! – I know that they “went to the academy together” but is the master actually his brother? – I seem to recall that originally the Dr travelled with his niece Susan – the masters daughter? Christmas time will bring Kylie!

I feel so liberated now that the season finale has aired in America, so now I can talk about anything Doctor Who related!
The Doctor originally traveled with, I believe, his granddaughter.
I’m kind of annoyed that they just brought the Master back for three episodes then killed him. Seems just a tad gimmicky.
he aint dead! – im glad they brought him back but i think that there isnt enough reflection of the history – i think there are things from the past they could now pick up like that granddaughter for instance
^ But he didn’t regenerate. But that girl picked up some green ring or something at the end, but I’m not sure what that was about?

Although of course no one every needs to go for good as there is always time travel and alternative realities
But I think the Doctor must have some rule that he can’t go back in his own timeline or something? He complains about being the last of the Time Lords, but if he went back in time to any time before the Time War, he would have a whole lot of Time Lords to chat with, no?
No - He has in the past met himself and that is a bit of a problem (Twice) - it is different with the Timelord War - Its more about removing the time altogether.
