Genius.
The Mars Volta are a progressive/psychadelic/latin/everything/rock band, like most truly great bands they're impossible to pigeonhole. The band are known for their long, complex compositions (courtesy of guitarist/composer/visionary Omar Rodriguez-Lopez), cryptic lyrics and spontaneous group improvisations. Most people either love 'em or hate 'em, frankly I think they're brilliant.
