The Love Cats

"The Lovecats" is the name of a 1983 single by The Cure. It was a Top 10 hit in the UK and Australia and later appeared on the compilation album Japanese Whispers.

Unlike most of The Cure's famous singles, "The Lovecats" is rarely performed live, due to the complexity of the song and the difficulty in recreating some sounds from it.

• This song was performed live by Jamie Cullum, in a duet with Katie Melua, at the 2004 Brit Awards ceremony.
• The band OK Go has released a popular cover of this song.
• The song was recently covered by Canadian singer Paul Anka on his 2005 album, Rock Swings, and by OK Go on their EP "Do What You Want".
• The song was also recently covered by English band Patchwork Grace on their 2007 début album, Milk Teeth.
• Rapper Tricky has also released a cover of the song on his 2004 album Vulnerable.
