The Long Winters

Fronted by John Roderick, the Long Winters are an ensemble of the more than usual indie folk from Seattle. But with their endearing song topics and simple lyrics that pause for their hidden thought, the Long Winters capture something that so other bands lack. Musically they are not brillant, but that is what makes them so interesting. Their songs push and drive a different limit. Live, their stage performance captures and Roderick’s somewhat contrived jokes only make him a more lovable figure. And of course, an English major, he finds a different picture of words and his world.
