The impact of this was as nothing compared to the original radio version, which held me utterly spellbound (I was more impressionable in those (alas!) far-off days).
Having said that, they did a pretty good job in the TV version. I found it quite watchable.
Then there's the recent film, which is... well, it's a film.
Somebody must like it.
The radio series is indeed the finest moment. Do we have a Bestuff entry for it, actually?
No, we don't. Lord, what fools these mortals be!
