omg this movie was soo good!! Heath Ledger played such a good joker he made that part his own. May he rest in peace. but i still cant believe two-face died so quick they couldve done a movie with two-face teaming up with another villian that would have been really good. but all in all the movie was straight up amazing!!!
I loved the previous movie and was excited about the next chapter. I had serious reservations about Heath Ledgers performance as the joker because, in my opinion, he's never given a solid performance in the past, although admittedly I haven't seen alot of his work. Due to his death shortly after completing the film the hype about his performance was out of hand; people tend to over exaggerate the quality of the work due to some respect for the dead thing or something...
Sometimes people get lucky, the right role... at the right time in their life... it all just clicks. Al Pacino in Scarface, Robert Deniro in Taxi Driver... i'm not saying Ledger was anywhere near as talented as those two men, but as his career evolved, who knows... Heath Ledger as the joker owned that movie and I found myself cheering for him more than batman.
It was great to see that character played as a true psychotic and not a cartoon. This new joker is the Tyler Durden of the criminal underworld. Confident, captivating and out of his mind! Now I wanna try the disappearing pencil trick! Any volunteers...??
This is like the greatest movie ever made, and Heath's best! I'd have to say that his performance in 'A Knight's Tale' is his second best, and that movie doesn't even level up to his performance in 'The Dark Knight'. He is such a badass!
And about Two-Face... I believe he did die... But my retard friend said that he was only passed out and the funeral was a stunt so that Gotham could remember Dent as a hero, and not a chance-ridden psychopath.
I don’t know if it was shown on purpose but you can see two-faces chest moving as he breathes in and out after that fall.
So i suspect he’ll be returning for part three.
Let’s just hope it not as short a return as scarecrows.
What the hell was up with that?
Heath Ledger's performance of The Joker was really good. He outshined all the other characters. Tragic his second last performance was the one which got him REALLY noticed. :( It wouldn't be the same if they got another person to play The Joker.
I don't think they would replace him. Not because the movie industry has dignity, but because they'd know that almost everyone would boycott the movie.
