Thai tea (also known as Thai iced tea) or “cha-yen” (Thai: ชาเย็น) when ordered in Thailand, is a drink made from strongly-brewed powdered black tea(“red tea” in the Far East). Other ingredients in the powder vary, but may include added star anise, tamarind or red and yellow food coloring, and sometimes other spices as well. This tea is sweetened with sugar and condensed milk and served chilled. Evaporated or whole milk is generally poured over the tea and ice before serving (it is never mixed prior to serving) to add taste and creamy appearance. Locally, it is served in a traditional tall glass and when ordered take-out, it is poured over the crushed ice in a clear (or translucent) plastic bag. It can also be made into a frappé at more westernised vendors.

I love chai tea. It's really good. You can buy a powder or a mix for it at the grocery store. And I love drinking it. It's like a combination of cold, creamy, sweet, and liquid all coming down your throat.
I found this site and learn about Thai iced tea. I I could not find the tea box as shown on this site but found Thai tea leaf from an Asian grocery store in plastic bag. When I opened the bag, my hands, my kitchen table and everything in my kitchen turned into orange color. I was kind of scared and went back to the store where I purchased the tea and ask for refund. The bag was nothing but color. Yukkkkk !
