A tattoo, or dermal pigmentation, is a mark made by inserting pigment into the skin for decorative or other reasons. Decorative tattoos on humans are a type of body modification, while tattoos on animals are most commonly used for identification or branding.
Tattooing has been practiced worldwide. The Ainu, the indigenous people of Japan, wore facial tattoos. Tattooing was widespread among Polynesian peoples, and among certain tribal groups in the Philippines, Borneo, Africa, North America, South America, Mesoamerica, Europe, Japan, Cambodia and China. Despite some taboos surrounding tattooing, the art continues to be popular all over the world.

Precisely my point Steph (
), sensitive areas are for fingers and toungues; not needles!!
You got me, I don't know anything about the history of tatoo locations! haha:)
I think you're right, Boomstam… and it has become a big gang thing now too. The other thing is that it's not even worth all the pain, because tattoos on the inside of your lip never last more than 2 years.
ya i've heard that they dont last and that your lip swells up really bad for about 2 weeks
The white baby tiger one is cute though…
really I dont like that one at all, I like the heart with wings
Phew, I got through that one okay.
C'mon gbman, can't you be serious for like two seconds?!? Jeeeeze… ;P
Masta is telling me to be serious? Is he serious? I can be serious whenever I want. I turn it on and off like a faucet, only when it's off, it usually drips a little (hehe)
ahahahha, nice…
haha nice gbman on both the boob oopps i mean tattoo comment and the faucet drip comment
Well, when ya got it...
"I got a new tattoo, I think you'll like the view" - ?
Oh, alright I'll ask...
ahaha gbman don't you know curiosity killed the cat! :)
Im just joking with ya! Its a line from a song but I don't know which song or the artist thus the " - ? "
Yep cats have nine lives, so if you were a cat you'd be down to 8! :o But your not a cat, your a man and since I've never heard of the saying 'Curiosity killed the man' I don't think you have anything to worry about :)
Am I the only one who is a little weirded out by the Weird Al tattoo? :o?
Most of the tattoo's i see in those big black books are nasty, I just imagine all the PWT people walking around with these things on their bodies, hanging out at Wal*mart on a saturday, going to tractor pulls, that kinda thing. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess…
I have to agrre with you. Tattoos can easily become gaudy and trashy depending on the person, place of it, and the tattoo itself.
Yeah, it's one of those things that you should not do at the spur of the moment, or on a drunken bender, you should put some thought into it, I have three, all black, no color, and i've had them for some years, they are a part of me now and I have no regrets, I'd like to add more to the canvas, but what…
I like black over color, the color ones seem kind of gaudy especially if they're really big. But I want to get one (well actually 3) but I dont know what a good place would be or what to look for or what price is good etc etc
I guess if you really like "Weird Al", go for it…
I was actually at a tattoo parlor on South Street in Philly on Friday night, all we could hear was the buzzing of the needle… sounding like a swarm of bees… maybe next time.
Anyone seen LA ink?
I love LA Ink… and Miami Ink, too.
I have a tattoo on my lower back.
Because I'm cool like that :D
I've gotten temporary tattoos several times.
Tattos are a fantatic form of self expression, and saying that they are a contributing factor as to how far you'll go in life is silly! Besides, that's the huge problem with society we judge people onlooks to much, tattoos can be trashy and tacky, but they can also be beautiful and complimentary. I have tattoos and if i actually WANTED to go be a Dr i would, but i don't, and it has nothing to do with tattoos, besides in those coats ya can't see tats anyways!
Just reading back on other comments I came across someone that said get something that means something to you.
Now I'm 16 and I didn't want to get something that means something to me now and not later.
tattoos look awesome on people depends on the person i guess.. my brother has got 3 lol hes addicted i wanna get one im thinkin about it.
its a turn off to see a tattoo on a female.
I disagree
Depends on the person and on what kind of Tattoo.
A flaming skull looks better on a biker then a schoolgirl, but a girl with a butterfly is ok.
A flaming skull on a schoolgirl. . . ? Continue please, I am intrigued. I've been thinking about getting one for a while now, maybe if I think hard enough, then I'll believe I have one? Just a thought.
I've been watching LA Ink and ya, women with their arms and legs covered doesn't do much for me, but a well placed tatt say right above the ass or on the ankle works just fine.
loveee miami+la ink !! loveee kat von d !! friggin sick creative+artistic+loving her style !! n oso ami's hot ! ;]
skin's much better with some color. :D
i like my white skin better thn color
tattoos are sweet! :p and it feels nice getting them as well
i think that tatoos are the good thing in life
when i turn 18 my mom and i are gunna go get fairy tattoos! mine's gunna be on my lower back! yup. :P
I've wanted a tattoo for years but I don't really know what to get...as for where to put it, it would most definitely be somewhere on my back.
One of my friends has a great tattoo of a bird, a really big tropical bird, it covers her entire back basically. I don't think I'd want something that elaborate for my first time. :)
I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A TATTOO IN THE NECK
I`m not sure what all the fuss is about , I didn`t get my first tattoo until I was 44 and got a second one within two months afterwards. I think if I had gotten one when I was 18 and in the military I would have regretted it but now I love mine and will get a new one in a couple of weeks .
I really want one on my wrist…but I hear that hurts…REALLY bad.
I have tattoo on my back, crawling lizard, I disigned it myself and I love it. I work in the office, have no problem with it. And thinking of "regrets after 40" and etc. is smth very idiotic to do, cuz I don't know how long I would live and in my 50's I would just not give a damn what people think of me the same as now.
