Sounds like 'vworp-vworp-vworp', described as a wheezing, groaning, grinding noise. I think it's binaural, and the most unique sound you'll ever hear. You hear it once, and if you hear it again, you know what it is, rather than
"now what was that again?!..." Vworp.

even my kid likes this sound. he can be in another room and come running because he knows that the doctor is on.
Yep! And all it took was a key dragged upon a gutted piano's strings, dubbed and played slower. Nonetheless, the tardis's noise is most beautiful.
