Steve Martin is the Rod Stewart of comedy; never has a fall from grace (and consequent brilliance) been so marked, and so saddening.
Yeah. The sad thing is, deep down you know he can be as good as he was, and instead he’s doing “Pink Panther” and “Cheaper By The Dozen”.
I concur. The thing is, he has written a book of awesome plays, including Picasso at the Lapin Agile. There was talk of it being made into a movie, but the project has been shelved. My guess is that it was perceived as too cerebral for most people.
