Stephen Colbert is truly the Greatest American Hero (and Canadians love him too!). If you don’t know who he is, clearly you have no balls.
He has written for and appeared in numerous television shows including Exit 57 (1995-1996), The Dana Carvey Show (1996), Strangers With Candy (1999-2001), The Daily Show (1997-?), and of course The Colbert Report (2005-?). He has also appeared in numerous other television shows and films, including a prequel to the show of the same name, Strangers With Candy, and co-authored Wigfield with fellow Second City alumni Amy Sedaris and Paul Dinello.
HE'S RUNNING FOR PRESIDENCY, BUT ONLY IN SOUTH CAROLINA, BUT IF YOU WANT TO VOTE FOR HIM AND YOU LIVE IN ANOTHER STATE, READ BELOW:

When the time comes, you have the option to do this on on the State Primary: You can write in a name of any candidate you want on the ballot.
A write-in candidate is a candidate in an election whose name does not appear on the ballot, but for whom voters may vote nonetheless by writing in the person's name. So if you want to vote for Colbert and he's not there, write him in as "Stephen Colbert"

THIS IS MADE OF AMERI AND WIN
me and my roomate got to meet him and take pics with him. he loved us cuz we are awesome.
Comedic genius! He shows how idiotic Republicans can be – with humor, of course.
Who doesnt like Stephen Colbert? He is a comedic genius, we all could learn a few things from him but I do not know what those things are….....damnit!
Anyone with that extraordinaily dry sense of humor who also happens to be a big fan of Ric Ocasek is definitely all right in my book. =)
Hell yeah, id vote for him. He's actually very intelligent.
No, I think Republicans are quite aware that Colbert is mocking them. I think most of them like him for it, too. That's something Liberals don't understand about Conservatives. Most Conservatives like mocking themselves. They have a very humble sense of humor, that fully realizes the irony in their own beliefs. Liberals have contradicting beliefs, too. They're just so intellectually insecure that they would rather search for complex twists in logic to justify their own contradictions than admit that they are capable of hypocrisy. Besides all of that, if you compare Colbert to Stewart, Colbert seems more happy and optimistic. Conservatives love this, because it illustrates quite well that in order to appear positive and optimistic, a Liberal has to pretend he's a Conservative.
Why would they need to pretend to be conservative in order to appear happy and optimistic?
That’s just as bad a stereotype about liberals as the ones you were debunking about conservatives.
And there are humorless people on both sides.
Ohhhh, generalisations.
I'm not debunking stereotypes. I'm saying conservatives relish in their own stereotypes. But watch both the Daily Show and the Colbert Report. Stewart always complains, and Colbert always smiles, dances, and roots for America. That's why Colbert's more popular. Everybody's quite aware that Colbert is really a Liberal, and is mocking Republicans, and although some Republicans hate him for it, most of them are happy that their point of view is finally being expressed in popular culture, even if it's an exaggerated, and lampooned version. Have you never mocked stereotypes about your own lineage? I'm part native american, and I make raindancing, casino, and scalping jokes all the time. It's the same thing. Now, to be clear, Colbert really mocks Republicans, and not so much Conservatives. There is a distinction. A lot of Conservatives have been pretty unhappy with the Republican party in recent years. Once you get up to the top of government politics, it seems Republican vs. Democrat seems to be more about "How can we do what we all want to do, and make it look like we're representing our base voters?" Your preferred party will always sacrifice it's most basic values, if it thinks it can do so without its base voters noticing. Just look at all the Democrats who voted for the Iraq war. Look at John Kerry's reputation for flipflopping. Look at all of President Bush's spending habits, his encouragement of illegal immigration, and his Patriot Act. These are huge violations of Conservative values, and an embarassment. So, really Colbert is mocking Republicans more than he is Conservatives. Either way, it makes him look a lot more positive than John Stewart, because Conservatives are known for their optimism. One would have to be optimistic to lead a charge into war.
Personally, I think the whole world's going Orwell on us. And I don't see either the Rupublicans or the Democrats doing anything but progressing it further in that direction. But mine is optimism in disguise. I see oppression as a neccessary hurdle of societal evolution. I think that as a species, we'll survive our future holocausts, and though I won't support them, I'm more than willing to get them over with, as soon as possible, if and when they're unavoidable.
haha I love his show it's hilarious! But did you guys know that nobody wants to go on his show any more because he bashes them so bad.
Colbert is awesome, but I think the Daily Show is funnier. It seems like the Colbert Report has an episode that isn't very funny every once in a while, while the Daily Show is more consistently funny. But hey, I still love it!!
I love the picture of him with the kitty! They both look so snuggly…
Ah, yeah, I agree HM.
Viva La Colbert!
That's so funny he broke his wrist running around the stage! What an idiot!
lol but he's a cool idiot!
Haha I know, he's awesome!
He's running for Presidency... but only in South Carolina, but if you want to vote for him and you don't live in SC, then read this..

That sucks. He's llikely to pull votes away from Ron Paul. Not that Ron Paul had a chance of getting on the Republican ticket, anyway.
I think it's hilarious that Colbert is doing this, and it's a great idea, running as a Republican.
However, I fear people will take this too seriously and actually try and have him win. He won't get to the top, obviously. It would be nice for him to get a little far, and for people to realize that it is a joke, and that it would be quite foolish to actually wish for him to win. Missing the joke a bit, eh?
I hope he wins. I don't care if he is joking, I think he'd be perfectly capable.
He won't be president. Even if he wins the primary, he only gets delegates in the party convention. I'm sure neither party will pick him there.
It would be awesome to put those politicians in their places though.
I think the damage he's doing is that he's taking votes away from the more moderate Republican candidates, and helping the chances of a far-right condidate making it on the Republican ticket. Here's a question for you, if you could choose one comedian or humorist to be the next president of the United States, who would you choose? I'd choose Matt Stone, with a Trey Parker VP.
I'm voting for him. Better than any other candidate out there
haha oh yeah
If I lived in South Carolina I would totally vote for Stephen Colbert in the primaries.
You can still vote for him. All you do is write his name on the ballot. You should read the discription, it tells you about it.
a modern sage - all hail his truthiness
I miss him. Oh, how I miss him.
