I like sparrows, because they are always there… no matter the weather.
I feed them when it snows, they are so joyful!

Thanks Pincita! I knew you would understand!!
Thanks edhelerdie!! ;) up with little sparrows!!
Yeah, I love sparrows, they’re so cute and smart. I feed them to, leave crumbs for them on the windowsill. It never snows here, but I’d love to see how they manage in the snow.
YOu do right!! well it hardly ever snows here too.. we did not get snow this year, for example….:)
For years there was a sparrow family breeding right above my window. That was really cute, especially on the days when the little ones were flying for the first time.
Jack “Passerotto”...?? ahahahahaha. :-)
I once picked up a little sparrow fallen from a nest, while in the countryside. My parents – I was a child – told me he would die without his mom, but… since he had still his eyes closed, he opened them up for the first time and saw us …. and from them on thought we were his family! :) He stayed with us for about two months, until he grew up and flew away… He was tender and as loving as a pet!! I still miss him! :(
That’s so sweet, Nick. :)
There’s a nest of sparrows on a ledge immediately below my bedroom window this season.
The window’s right by my bed, so taking a quick peek to see how the chicks are doing is the first thing I do in the morning, before I even get up.
It’s just the nicest thing.
That is very nice of you… :)
You know what happened the other day?
I came back after a two day trip and my cat had caught a sparrow and kept it, alive, inside my flat, to play with it.... can you believe? It was flying everywhere when I came in, and was very frightened. As soon as I opened the door to the terrace, he flew away.... poor little thing! To think that my cat was so proud.....
My city dwelling neighbors don't share this love for the little critters. Put out some breadcrumbs..they appear in droves--with more droves of pigeons.
