I know what you mean- "Too little too late!" Maybe a bad analogy, but when you clean up spilled milk, do you put it back in the bottle? No, it goes right in the trash. It sounds harsh, but you've opened up an old wound my friend. Ex-girlfriends I'm fine now, that was a long time ago, but what a piece of work she was.
Girls can make us suffer so much.... well I did cry over spilled milk... I should not say this, but when she said sorry it just meant 'i'll do it my way'... just like Frank Sinatra....lol
It's jus' so funny how some people use this five letter words like a magic word, assuming that all will be forgiven & forget…As for me,i guess at many times,i can only forgive, but not forget.
I agree with you gbman. It's weird isn't it,don't you think that it olways the same person who says sorry? And that person is the one that hurts you the most?Depressing…
I was just thinking… What's worse, someone who does you wrong and won't say sorry, OR somebody who says sorry, but you know they don't mean it? Both leave you feeling empty…
I'd say that if sorry is just a formal word which allows you to keep doing wrong, possibly it is better not to pronounce it at all…. not sure, though, GB…
From my experience I can say I have started recognizing when someone saying sorry is <del>at least</del> trying to really mean it… but of course I may be wrong!
they are 2 evils but i'd hve to choose the person who really ment it b/c at least theyre trying
my only problem is i cant really tell when a person means it or not, i mean sometimes if they're sarcastic i can but other then that im just a target for empty sorrys
That wasn't one of the choices Picard, no changing the rules. Actually, it's just something to think about. That's a good point you bring up, whether they mean it or not, ultimately the choice is yours. If the person does mean it, but it's the fifteenth time they've had to say sorry today, do you want to put up with that? Maybe they don't really mean it?
Sometimes when I do something wrong and I know I have to say I'm sorry, I always feel stupid because it is such an overly used word, I just hope it is received as I indend it to be. Honestly.
Good point i feel the same way like if I really regret something that I did Sorry just doesn't seem to be enough. Someone should come up with a new word that has the same meaning but just means a little more.
I don't know if it's because I know how it feels to be on the receiving end of an insincere apology, I probably just worry about nothing. Oh, but there is a better word: Flowers!!

How true. Don't use it unless you mean it!
Too many people misuse this word, I'm afraid, my friend Geoffrey... my ex-girlfriend certainly did....
Oh well Gb....

The more you hear sorry from the same person for the same mistake, to me, makes it mean less and less.
But as long as it is said sincerely, it should be accepted just as sincerely.
This is so true, GB...
and all my understanding to Nick...
;)

When people say sorry, what they should be asking themselves is "What can I do to make sure this doesn't happen again." Very true Maybellene. T
:)
I added the best hardest and easiest word to say, because I think it is.
Remember the Chicago track...
'Hold me now, it's hard for me to say I'm sorry...'
Yes, I do. Do you remember Elton John singing "Sorry seems to be the hardest word... "
This seriously brings back alot of sad memories…
One, Two, Three... Sorry!
Just couldn't resist...
I just saw a quote from a book called "A Winning Attitude":
"Sorry." A word that breaks down barriers.
I thought it was appropriate.
thanks!
this little word can mean everything when the person saying it means it but if u dont mean it then it can cause even more harm
Exactly... I got to hate it, in the end....:(

I don't know either, just thought it was a good question to ponder. It's like choosing between the lesser of two evils.
From my experience I can say I have started recognizing when someone saying sorry is <del>at least</del> trying to really mean it… but of course I may be wrong!

Insanely true! flowers make everything better!
I remember playing this boardgame back when I was ….. ..... ..... Whoops, wrong conversation! Sorry!
funny darth.
lol @ darth
It's good that so many people feel for the 'sorry' issue so much...
I don't feel alone anymore!!!
;)
sorry
just kidding.
One of the most misused words. Some people can just throw the word around and not mean it what-so-ever.
