Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwoʻole (May 20, 1959 – June 26, 1997) was an American musician who lived in Hawaii until his death at the age of thirty-eight.

He became famous outside Hawaii when his album Facing Future was released in 1993 with his medley of "Over the Rainbow" and "What a Wonderful World", which was subsequently featured in several films, television programs, and commercials.

I first heard this song at the end of 'Meet Joe Black', and also on '50 First Dates' and a few commercials here and there. It's a beautiful song, check it out...

The song and memories are wonderful.   So many wonderful singers and musicians have interpreted it in so many beautiful ways.  This song brings hope to everyone; when I hear it my heart strings start singing...

The best thing is seeing a double rainbow!  It was awesome.  The reality of seeing it shows me there is something over the rainbow.  You really appreciate the beauty of the natural world.
