oh my goodness do i hate sofia coppola. she has yet to direct a single movie i have even slightly enjoyed. NOTHING happens in her movies, just a camera panning forward and backward in some boring, overrated scene. the only reason she’s even a recognized director is because of her father.

ugh. her so-called “creativity” gets on my nerves.

Each film is an artwork, she creates full, rounded film experiences, combining the visual, aural and emotional perfectly. She transcends narrative to create films that are eternal.

I loved Virgin Suicides and Lost in Translation but Marie Antoinette was pretty much a big pile of suckiness.

her movies can be lackluster; however, they are innovative. she's one of my muses. i adore a lot of what she does. she's not just a filmmaker. i admire her in a lot of ways and i truly believe she's living the professional life i want right now.
