The Smashing Pumpkins are a popular American alternative rock band which formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1988. Although the band has seen several line-up changes, they have consisted of Billy Corgan (vocals/guitar), James Iha (guitar/vocals), D’arcy Wretzky (bass/backup vocals) and Jimmy Chamberlin (drums) for the majority of their recording career.

Is everyone here aware that they can download the Smashing Pumkins cd : Machina II on Billy Corgan’s website?

Here’s the link: http://www.billy-corgan.com/index.php?page=mp3s

This was released on his site in 2000, as a result of their label not letting them do a double disk release, since their albums sales on the album before this hadn’t been so great. Check it ou-out.

If you ever feel the need to expand your musical horizons just listen to the Pumpkins. You’ll feel as if every song is an exploration, the pushing of a boundary. They seem to express feelings and sentiments the way no one else has or can. Their lyrics are pure poetry, making you feel love, anger and everything in between.

Yeah, it's something you actually have to pay attention to. You need to listen.. not just hear.

I only experience that with certain albums (Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Adore) and certain songs individually (Disarm, Daydream, etc.). Albums like Siamese Dream and Gish as a whole don't seem as urgent, and more structured like a typical alternative album of the 90's.
