Sentenced was a doom/gothic metal band that played melodic death metal in their early years.[1] The band formed in 1989, in the town of Muhos, Finland, and broke up in 2005. Founding member Miika Tenkula's death in 2009 effectively ended any hopes of reforming the band.[2]
