Scrooge McDuck or Uncle Scrooge is a fictional Scottish-born Glaswegian1anthropomorphic duck created by Carl Barks that first appeared in Four Color Comics #178, Christmas on Bear Mountain, published by Dell Comics in December, 1947.
Over the decades, Scrooge has emerged from being a mere supporting character to a major figure of the Duck Universe, even giving it its popular name Scrooge McDuck Universe. He was given his own comic book series, Uncle Scrooge as well as appearances in various television specials, films, and video games. Scrooge, along with several other characters of Duckburg, has enjoyed international popularity, particularly in Europe, and his books are frequently translated into other languages.
Scrooge's name is based on the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, a character from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.2 Although never explicitly confirmed by Barks, it is theorized that Scottish-born industrialist Andrew Carnegie, who left his country for America at 13, served as a model for Uncle Scrooge.3 Another prototype for Scrooge was a character (with no name) with a Scottish accent who was featured in the Disney-produced World War II propaganda film, The Spirit of '43 in 1943.

Hah! I used to watch Duck Tales a lot when I was still in pre-school- he was Donald's Uncle, wasn't he? He used to keep all his money in a giant building on the hill- and i'm pretty sure most episodes revolved around trying to protect it.
Nostalgic awesome-ness. :D
Has any one read to good old Donald Duck comics? Scrooge would always go on some really cool adventure.;D
