I was touched by the friendship between the title character, Samantha, and the servant girl Nellie, whom Samantha befriends. The film didn't really seem to follow the books, but oh well. AnnaSophia Robb plays the title character, Mia Farrow plays Samantha's grandmother, and Kelsey Lewis plays Samantha's best friend, Nellie.
