Rorschach's Journal:

Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face.

The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown.

The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save Us!"...

...and I'll look down, and whisper, "No"

 

He's not locked in here with us; we're locked in here with him.

He’s the best watchman so far…Which is not that difficult, given the other ones’ ridiculous costumes :P

Well, I hadn’t come across it til today, but it really is great! Don’t think I would like him watching my own neighbourhood, though :)

I would like him watching my neighborhood. There's no better person to make you feel safe, in my opinion. At least if he's watching your back then you know that any criminal that he catches messing with you is getting their ass handed to them big time. Cops can't always be relied on to punish the wicked effectively. And they often abuse their power. Other vigilantes might do the same. At least with Rorschach you know that his code of honor keeps him from victimizing the innocent or being bribed. He has such high standards for himself, even at the cost of his own comfort and safety. I would have absolutely no problem with him living on/hanging around my block.
