Not so sure about Liszt… or Paganini, for that matter; but certainly Wagner, Tchaikovsky and the very idiosyncratic Berlioz. His Te Deum is a work of genius, especially the epic (and ravishingly beautiful) Tibi Omnes. Mendelssohn seemed to do most of his best work very early on… the only piece I’d take with me to a desert island would be the Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream (well, maybe The Hebrides as well. It’s perfectly proportioned).
I’d add to the Romantic list Gustav Mahler, Beethoven… probably Rimsky-Korsakov, too. And there are many others who merit inclusion.

But I’ll stop for now.
Am I getting the wrong information? I though it was from 1830 to 1900.
And Finrod, I personally don't mind if you go on. ;p
