There are a surprising number of tactics for this – for instance if you’re playing against a man, go with paper, as men go for rocks more often as it’s so manly. Apparently.
not entirely true… best bet would be to show some cleavage, he’ll get distracted and victory will be yours!

@gbman-I will have to tes that theory. I normally go for rock because it seems like everyone always picks scissors, but maybe that's because I've been playing with girls...

Scissors is always first because it's like the middle choice. Paper is frail, rock is powerful, and scissors are a neutral technology. The mind can't easily cope with a random choice. Everything has to be rational. So it naturally sorts the available choices in the most reasonable way that it can, and then chooses the middle as a compromise. It sounds more difficult than doing something at random, but for a human brain, it isn't.
of course, when people figure that out, they'll stop using scissors first and use, say rock…at which point they'll realize what's going on and go on to paper…and then revert back to scissors and start the cycle anew!! mwahahaha!!!
Luckily the entire population doesn't realize everything at the exact same time.
so there are three approximately equal sections of society at any given time...so now if we do a demographic study we should be able to figure out where the rockers, paperers and scissorers are concentrated and how often they change strategy...we shall be rps masters!

Went to the lake this w/e, played beach volleyball, two girls were the captains, who would choose first was decided by… well you know, anyway it seems the most popular choice for women is scissors…

I was raised in a catholic family. I assure you I've sat and listened long enough. Rock always triumphs. Especially in a public stoning.

I was always liked scissors better too Ileah, but not tweezers…. they just dont seem as threatening =/
Obviously you've never been stabbed with tweezers…
As an adventurous child, I often found tweezers to be a formidable adversary... to wood ticks.
