I used to live in a place where the word ‘cock’ was a term of affection much like ‘pet’ and ‘love’. So you could say to someone “How you doing, cock” and no one would bat an eyelid hehe :)

Non-native speakers actually can never pronounce it in the right way so they keep calling me ” Irma” :) But it’s in fact a bit more different than that.

I suppose its a bit like the Japanese trying to pronounce ‘r’, they say “Cwying” instead of “Crying” :)
