Rice is great with stir-fry, curry, and anything that’s served with gravy. Stew is better when it’s poured into a bowl of hot rice, in my opinion. Peas are far more palatable when served in a big pot of rice, again, my opinion. Others probably feel the same way about beans and rice.
Rice is the great gastronomical side-kick of cuisines around the world. From the West Indies to East Asia, in all of its textures and colors, rice goes well with just about everything.
