Return of the Killer Tomatoes

Return of the Killer Tomatoes is the first sequel to Attack of the Killer Tomatoes and undeniably the strongest entry in the parody-horror Killer Tomato franchise. It’s not the sort of thing you’d normally have high expectations for, but sometimes the best stuff in the world is completely unexpected. You do need to have a high threshhold for silliness, but it’s a surprisingly smart and good natured kind of silliness, much more Zoolander than, say, Scary Movie 4 (or five, or whatever we’re up to by now).

For bonus points, this was also an early film for a very young George Clooney, who plays a large role as the main character’s slacker roommate and best friend. According to him, most of the movie was filmed within a single drunken weekend which he still remembers fondly.
