The cat uses this natural system to ensure its own wellbeing. When cats are treated nicely, fed choice cuts of chicken, provided with soft, warm blankets etc, they make a wonderful sound, second to no other in the animal kingdom. This gives humans an extra insentive to spoil them rotten.
