Who is this man they call Pronk?

Cleveland Indians designated hitter Travis Hafner was nicknamed “Pronk” by utility infielder Bill Selby during spring training in 2004. The nickname combined two aspects for which Hafner was known: being a project and a donkey.

Long after Hafner developed from a project into one of the most formidable offensive forces in major league baseball, he’s still known to fans as “Pronk.” “Vote Pronk” is a popular means of reminding people to vote for Hafner as an All-Star, although he has been repeatedly robbed of the honor.
