I think the only thing I would choose over privacy is to live in a world with no secrets at all.
Nah, I like my secrets, gives me something that is all my own. That is important to me…
Yeah, but in a world with no secrets, nobody could be dishonest. Not even politicians. And it would do no good to have wars, because every side would know the other side's plans in advance. Also, there would be less stealing or murder, because guilt would be immediately known. All advancements in technology would be made public knowledge instantaniously upon their invention. The best deals on the market for every product and service would be found at the moment of curiosity, and your significant other would not cheat on you. Such would be a world with no secrets. I'd give up my privacy for that.

I don't think that is a world with no secrets, to me that sounds like a world where people could do no wrong… where their conscience overpowers their will to deceive. Guilt has nothing to do with secrets. And in the case of wars, what do you think would happen if the foreign countries knew the plans of the US?? Would they stand idly by, while the US threatens their way of life, their natural resources? No, it doesn't work in my mind.
Of course they wouldn't. But the US wouldn't threaten their way of life, either. US citizens wouldn't allow it.
