I love taering off all the little red things first into a bowl and eating them with a spoon :)

Yeah that’s fun, but a major operation hehe.

I love peeling them apart and eating the seeds too!

pomegranates are DELISH . totally worth every squirt in the face/on the clothes.

Why do you have to do all that crap to prepare it? What if you just cut it open and eat it?

Vano
Vano posted about 1 year ago

Fine. Avoid my question. Keep going through all that shit to prepare it. Just remember who was brave enough to stand up and say, “Why can’t I just eat the damn thing without doing all of that other shit?!”

Because it makes you appreciate it more, fool.

Whoever originally nominated pomegranate as ‘the best way to stay in the underworld’, you totally win.

Ah, but pulling the seeds apart from the membrane is what makes it so much fun!

There’s a tree around the corner from my place. My boyfriend and I like to go on covert missions, and come home with a bag full.

I would love to have a pomegranate tree. The idea seems too good to be true. A tree full of the delicious fruit.

Nimble, your comment reminded me that I used to steal pomegranates from our neighbour’s garden when I was a kid. What else could I’ve done?? He has a garden of those trees! So seducing :)

summer
summer posted about 1 year ago

And thank God we have one in our garden now :)

I’ve never met a homegrown pomegranate that I liked.

What is the proper climate to grow a pomegranate tree? How difficult are they to grow and keep up?

summer
summer posted about 1 year ago

Well, I see that somebody’s keen on growing poms :) You need a Mediterannean climate, and watering the trees. That’s all :)

I’m with NimbleMarmoset. All this talk of pomegranate trees is making me tremendously jealous. Having a whole tree full pomegrantates seems like the most insanely decadent thing imaginable.

Since I don’t live in anything even close to Mediterranean climate, I’m going to console myself by pretending that “pomegranate” means “oak leaf” for the rest of the conversation. That way instead of feeling deprived I can just think all of you are slightly crazy. :)

NimbleMarmoset
NimbleMarmoset posted about 1 year ago

Oak leaf, hah! :D

Yes, I would be unable to grow them as well. Ohhh dear.

erinmae posted about 1 year ago

I live in one of the much colder parts of australia and although they are scarce the few that are around seem to grow ok.

summer
summer posted about 1 year ago

There seems to be hope then, Nimble. Trying costs nothing! :) (Except a bit of disappointment in case they fail to grow)
