Pom-Bear is an extruded snack made of snack pellets manufactured by Intersnack Ltd in Corby, Northamptonshire in the UK. It is also manufactured in other European countries, notably Germany and Hungary. It is sold ready packed by Intersnack and as raw snack pellets by Pellsnack.
These potato snacks saw their climb to fame among young children in the late 1990s, starting off by being sold in smaller local shops and then in some major supermarkets. The snacks gained appeal in health shops such as Holland & Barrett, because of their lack of wheat and gluten as well as not containing any artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. In 2004, Intersnack began TV advertising campaigns for Pom-Bear,[2] returning them to supermarket shelves.
In the UK Pom-Bear is available in Original (Ready Salted), Cheese and Onion, Salt and Vinegar, and Ketchup flavours.[1] In other countries flavours include Paprika, Pizza and Sour Cream & Onion.
